The BEBE Winans Story

Join FAME-Foundation for the Advancement of Music & Education and its FAME Jazz Band at Arena Stage on Friday, August 19th, 8 PM for Born for This – The BEBE Winans Story,

Detroit natives BeBe and CeCe Winans, youngest siblings of the Winans family dynasty, experience the ultimate in culture shocks when invited to join Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker’s Praise the Lord network television show. The Winans teenagers have the opportunity to become more than just television celebrities, but to integrate TV evangelism. As BeBe and CeCe encounter fame, fortune and even a young Whitney Houston, BeBe must learn to balance his desire for success with his true calling. Combining classic Winans hits with brand new songs, this inspirational musical features Juan and Deborah Joy Winans in their Arena Stage debuts as BeBe and CeCe Winans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94Np0z8AgnM&feature=youtu.be.

Child poverty affects a child’s ability to learn, it breeds low self-esteem and emotional impairments such as depression, anxiety and/or related behavioral problems.  Music builds reasoning skills and helps children learn and remember. Playing an instrument trains the brain to think critically and strategize abstract concepts.  Children who regularly play an instrument do well in their STEM classes.  Join FAME and be a part of the Education solution.

Award winning singer, songwriter, and producer Eric Roberson (affectionately known as “Erro”) continues to break boundaries in an industry predominantly influenced by major record labels, manufactured sounds, and mainstream radio. His countless achievements as an independent artist has established him as a leader in which he has been able to reach levels of great success. An outstanding storyteller, Eric’s music is relatable, allowing him to form personal connections with each of his listeners. His music is influenced by elements of music styles varying from Soul, Rhythm & Blues, House, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Rock and more, inhibiting him from being confined or limited to any one genre of music. His music is personal, poetic, positive and progressive. It is classic music presented in an untraditional fashion. All of these factors, paired with a humble, inspiring, and inviting spirit, has earned Eric the love and respect of each of his fans.
